ECHO, PXOG, UOG, SOU, PVE, CORO, CAD, CLNR and TRP

It was a short week and started with Echo Energy (ECHO) announcing the commencement of drilling of their second exploration well in a four well back-to-back campaign in Argentina.  Shame that they destroyed any prospect of a share price increase for investors with a heavily discounted placing the week before.  Companies at present seem to find it hard to resist taking advantage of pre-spud interest and, instead of allowing their investors to profit, are placing at sometimes large discounts into the price rise and volume.  Something to watch out for.

Prospex Oil & Gas (PXOG) and United Oil & Gas (UOG) announced the application for a production concession application in Italy.  Based upon the experience of other companies, this will not be granted for many years, if ever.  Oil and gas exploration is virtually grinding to a halt in Italy, principally as a result of local environmental activism and inertia at the bureaucratic level, regional and national, which is why Sound Oil (SOU) and Po Valley Energy (PVE) both gave away their Italian assets to Coro Energy (CORO), which now doesn't really want to do anything in Italy either, just see their announcement last week.

In adversity lies advantage, though, and another company with an announcement last week, Cadogan Petroleum (CAD), could clean up in Italy with its directors' deep connections, experience and knowledge.  This isn't your usual board for a small oil company with minor production: http://www.cadoganpetroleum.com/about/bod.aspx.  Think about it.   Net cash at CAD also significantly exceeds market capitalisation.

Finally, Cluff Natural Resources (CLNR) announced the continuation of its Southern North Sea licences until 30 November, 2018, allowing it time to continue the farm out process on these two permits and Tower Resources (TRP) issued a new presentation, stating its goal is to begin drilling in the coming months.  Once confirmation of funding is in place, there is huge potential with TRP.  See the recent interview.

Fairly quiet last week for major news, but still plenty worth mentioning.   Eco Atlantic (ECO) announced the mobilisation of the Stenna Forth drillship which is now en route to Guyana.  Spud of the Jethro Lobe prospect is expected on or around 26 June. Amerisur Resources (AMER) announced approval of the farm-out agreement with Occidental relating to four exploration blocks in southern Columbia holding an estimated 448 MMBO mid-case gross prospective resources.  In return for acquiring a 50% interest in each block, Occidental will fund a $93 million exploration and appraisal programme starting this year.  In the meantime, AMER has increased production to over 6,800 BOPD. Diversified Gas & Oil (DGOC) continued to announce share buy backs running at around £1 million per day.  They are managing to support the price for the time being, but with no rebuttal of the allegations made against them, what happens when, as is inevitable, they run o...

RKH PMO 88E RRE BPC PET PVR TRP LEK ZEN AAOG

First full week of the New Year and plenty going on.   Rockhopper Exploration (RKH)  announced Heads of Terms with Navitas to farm-in to Sea Lion.  This adds additional strength to the Sea Lion joint venture, which Rockhopper believes will increase the likelihood of a successful senior debt project financing for the Sea Lion Phase 1 development.  Key of course will be the local political situation. Sea Lion JV partner  Premier Oil (PMO)  announced its trading and operations update.  2019 production was 78,400 boepd.  It's also looking forward to drilling its first well in Alaska, which it describes as "potentially transformational" for Premier, whose own interest comes via a farm out from  88 Energy (88E) , which incidentally is now up 100% from when I mentioned it as a favourite towards the end of last year.   Premier also announced proposed UK North Sea acquisitions, which will add around 23,000 boepd p...
